Flip Flop Mini Album

This mini was made to display some beach photos with my family along the California coast.  The project was inspired by Imaginisce paper that I bought for the June Cricut Magazine Challenge.  I had this idea to mount the book on a real flip-flop and repeat the flip-flop image on the A Shore Thing Imaginisce line.  My local store did not carry the complete line so I added some beachy Splash Dance paper form Imaginisce.  So with my new paper and $1.50 invested children's flip-flops, I was off to create my project.  With my trusty Gypsy, a shape was welded to match the flip-flop.  This shape matched the shoe but I liked the stylized shape of the sandal on the Life is a Beach cartridge.  I ended up welding the top of the Life is a Beach cartridge to my welded piece.  I cut the store bought flip-flop on a band saw using my cricut cut as a template.  (Shhh, don't tell hubby I am cutting foam shoes on his band saw.)

For the Cricut Magazine Challenge it was requested that you incorporate 3 Imaginisce products.  I used the following paper:  A Shore Thing - Sun-ripe Stripe and Cool Pool Chatter, Splash Dance - Polka Dot Bikini and Coral's Reef.
Project also uses I-Rock tool and gems, and I-Top brad Topper with 22 mm brad.

Pretty Pirate

This scrapbook page is for a weekly challenge at the Cricut Circle where you must create a project following their provided sketch.  I enjoy following a sketch because someone with some design sense has created the layout for you.  Here is my Pretty Pirate sitting on her gold haul.  My husband took these pictures for me so they came out decent.  (I tend to chop people's heads off in a photo, LOL)

Are those Clean Dishes?

Here is my Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday Organize it challenge entry.  For this challenge you must use your Peachy Keen face stamps.  This is a laminated sign for my dishwasher that tells the maid (that would be me) if the dishes are clean or dirty.  The oval at the bottom can be flipped to say clean. These faces are from PK-450 Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.  My poor dish is crying because she has a crack on her.  Awww.

Lady Bug Card

It is Throwback Thursday Challenge at My Creative Time.  This week's challenge was to use the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge and the color blue.  My dad bought Doodlecharms for me when I got my cricut.  I thought Doodlecharms would be the ONLY cartridge you would ever need. *pause for laughter*  The card base is welded on my Gypsy using a shape from Doodlecharms too.

My little Birdhouse

I made this little birdhouse to sit on a shelf in my room.  My poor husband has to live with all the "cute things" that I make.  He is such a sport!  This was made for the monthly challenge over at the Cricut Circle Blog.  Their challenge was to select items from a "tic-tac-toe" square.  I picked the horizontal middle row: ric rac, ruffles, and a bird.  The ruffle "shingles" were made with crepe paper gathered through my sewing machine.  The cricut cuts (bird, house trim, orange flower on the house) are from Give A Hoot.  The birdhouse was purchased in the dollar bin at a craft store and covered with paper.

Apple Gift Card Holder.

There is no worm in this apple, only a delightful gift card.  This project came together easier than I thought it would. I cut 17 apple shapes from the Give A Hoot Cartridge, scored them in half.  Then I placed hot glue on the the score line and stacked 8 apple shapes on top of each other.  I glued this section to a full apple base, repeating all of this for the second half.  Then I made a pocket with wet glue when I joined the to apple halves together.  Fan the apple shapes out. There was a gap in the center so I "sliced" one apple in half to fill that gap.  Cut a tag from the same Cricut cartridge and attach with twine and a button .  -Easy and fast enough make for all the kid's teachers this year.  I am also entering this project in the Cricut Circle's Weekly Challenge
