Smile... I used the Cricut Craft Room Software

I would like to learn more about the Cricut Craft Room Software and there is a blog, Cricut Craft Room Blog, that is focused on this tool.  They are having a Basket Challenge, basically weld any shape into a basket.  I used an old favorite Mini Monograms to make this basket.  This looks so easy but it is a learning curve.  I like how easy it is to weld and align shapes with this software. It is a long story BUT my lesson to share is "don't put images off your mat".  My machines where moving the 12 by 12 mat out because there was an image saved off the mat.  This would cause the Software to cut on my machine instead of the mat.
getting ready to cut :)

Smile!  I did it!

Hello Kitty Mini

This little mini album was made to capture the upcoming school photos for my daughter.  I cut the bags and tags from Platin Schoolbook cricut cartridge, cutting off the handles of the inner bags.  The cover bags were made sturdy by cutting some lightweight chipboard and gluing inside the pocket.  This is my entry for Cricut Circle Blog's Weekly Challenge #39, A-B-C, 1-2-3 Challenge. (A) pop of (B)right (C)olor as well as 1 of something, 2 of something...  These were hard rules from me but that is what a challenge is for, right?  So my "pop" of color is the robin's egg blue that pops on each page.  My 1-2-3: one Cuttlebug folder, only two cartridges, and three stickers.

Crafting with the Dog

Happy Saturday-  Here is a scrapbook page I made with my new Sophie Cricut cartridge and Nate's ABCs.  The circle doily is from Sophie and the cute doggy cut at 5 inches and is from Nate's ABCs.  I combined some Peachy Keen Face stamps to make the dog face.  This is my entry for the Peachy Keen LFIF Furry Friends Challenge.

I combined these stamps to make a face that works with my dog cut.

The Best Autograph

My girls, thanks to their uncle Steve, have season passes at Disneyland this year.  We visited Disneyland almost every week and the girls have been filling their autograph books.  Captain Hook has the best autograph so far, with Jessie coming in a close second.  I was so thrilled to use my Imagine for Captain Hooks face.

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge #58

Just follow the sketch at the Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge for a chance to win some darling elf stamps from their Christmas collection.  I cut an orange slice right out of the patterned paper and put a cute peachy keen face on the slice.  How easy is that?

Hooked on my Imagine

I am making a scrapbook page from a Disneyland trip but had to share my Captain Hook face with you.  Using Cricut Craft Room, I was able to print his face.  The faces of the Disney Characters have always been very hard for me to layer.  Captain Hook has tons of layers but if one were skilled in Cricut Craft Room you could print and cut the whole image.

My BFF loves snails... NOT!

I am taking care of my BFF's house while she is on vacation.  I made this card to "welcome her home" because I am sure she can't wait to get back to her assault on the snails in her garden, ha, ha.   This project is showing some of my favorite things, Create a Critter cricut cartridge, my Cuttlebug embossing folders, inking, my Peachy Keen Face stamps, and most importantly making a custom project for my friends and family. This is the challenge for the Pinkalicious Blog Hop for August, show some of YOUR favorite crafting things.  Be sure to check it out and share your projects too-

Let's Face it Friday - Shaped Card

This shaped card is to cheer up a friend that is not feeling 100%.  She has a standing joke that she is "going to the corner".  Don't worry, I will hold down the corner until you can join me.

The Owl Post

We have been having Harry Potter marathons this summer... I bet a lot of families have been doing the same.  This cute owl is from the retired cricut cartridge Happily Ever After.  I am liking this idea as you can send your personal "owl post message" with a sentiment stamp and tuck goodies inside the pillow box.  (No howlers, please.)  This is my entry in My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge.  The challenge is to use a retired cricut cartridge, join the fun!

Summer Vacation Memories

I purchased a plastic shell bathing suit top. (OMG, not to wear!!! I thought it would make a cute mini album.)  I just love how this little shell holds the memories of a great day at the beach with my family.  The clam shell opens like a compact to reveal 16 photos. My Gypsy was used to weld a shape that would fit into the shell.  Most of the cuts are from Life is a Beach and Pack Your Bags.  When the Cricut Circle's Weekly challenge was opened for a scrapbook layout or mini album sharing you summer vacation memories, I knew I had to get started making this project.

Close up of Tide Pool-  I used the Koi Pond Cuttle bug folder to emboss some plastic packing material to add some "foam" stickles. Would you believe my "rocks" are cricut cuts of Tinker Bell's hair?

The Sun Banner

I wanted to create a summer theme banner for my dinning room and decided to combine that idea with a challenge at the Cricut Circle's August Monthly Challenge: Create a Scene Challenge.  I made these "summer scenes" at the ends of the banner with my new imagine and Best Friends cartridge.  The font is Alphalicious.  Extras on the backgrounds are from Pop-Up Neighborhood, Life is a Beach, and Smiley Cards.

Easy Gift Bag

This is a challenge entry made for Throwback Thursday at My Creative Time.  The challenge is to use an older cartridge, fabric, and a Christmas theme.  I made a simple bag from a fabric scrap on my sewing machine and put some peppermint mints from Simply Charmed cricut cartridge on the ties.  I "wrapped" the candy with plastic wrap and small plastic ponytail ties.

Have A Great Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer, I just got school forms for the kids school, sob...  The card base follows the sketch on Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge # 57.  My worm is from Walk in My Garden (but I chopped some of his body off to match the sketch, ouch.) and his face is from PK-754 Critter Faces Set A Medium.  The sentiment stamp is from My Creative Time's My Favorite Sayings set.  Thanks for stopping by my little blog.

Bird Watching Journal

I finally got to play with the Campin' Critters Cricut Cartridge.  Oh, what cute cuts this one has to offer.  I made the journal and added Mr. Owl and a title to the front.  We are blessed to have a canyon behind our house that offers an assortment of birds to journal about.  This is my entry for the Cricut Circle Weekly challenge that requested you to use one of the techniques the design team featured on the blog.  I picked Michele Kovack's technique to add shading with Copic Markers.

A Perfect Pear

I made this card for the Peachy Keen Let's Face It Friday So Puny Challenge.  I enjoy a puny card so thought this pear couple made a wonderful card to celebrate a marriage.  I used Just Because Cards for the puny phrase, and found some pears on Joys of the Season and Gypsy Font.  The happy pear couple just make me smile with their faces from PK-640 Princess Face Assortment.
